Elevated credit card bonuses come and go, and the sun’s about to set on two great Marriott credit card offers from Amex.

With the premium Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card, you can earn 100,000 bonus points and 1 Free Night Award after making $5,000 in purchases on your new card within the first 3 months. The free night certificate that comes with this bonus is valid at Marriott Bonvoy properties that cost up to 85,000 points, making this offer worth a whopping 185,000 Marriott points. That’s worth around $1,295 in stays based on Insider’s valuation of Marriott points at 0.7 cents apiece, but the offer is only available until May 18, 2022.

Also ending at the same time is a big offer on the Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card to earn 100,000 bonus points after using your card to make $5,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months of card membership (offer ends 5/18/22) (worth around $700 in Marriott stays). I’ve had this card for a number of years and even though I don’t use it much for everyday spending, I continue to renew it and pay the $125 annual fee (See Rates) each year because of the strong benefits it offers.

Here’s what to know about both of these deals so you can apply before they disappear.

We’re focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won’t be worth it if you’re paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card is the best choice for folks who stay with Marriott a lot — if you’re just an occasional traveler, you’ll likely do better with other Marriott cards. Because it’s a premium card, it’s got a hefty $450 annual fee (See Rates).

Besides an impressive welcome bonus of 100,000 bonus points and 1 Free Night Award after making $5,000 in purchases on your new card within the first 3 months, the card earns Marriott points in some great categories:

  • 6 points per dollar at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels (this is in addition to up to 10x points for being a Marriott Bonvoy member and up to 2.5x points for having Gold elite status from the card)
  • 3x points on dining at US restaurants (including takeout and delivery)
  • 3x points on flights purchased directly from airlines
  • 2 points per dollar on all other eligible purchases

You can use the free night that comes with the bonus at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels that cost up to 85,000 points. This includes some very high-end properties from brands like St. Regis, W, and JW Marriott. Here’s our guide to the best hotels for redeeming an 85K Marriott free night certificate.

Although the card’s annual fee is high, it’s quite easy to offset that cost by maximizing the card’s vast range of benefits. These include:

The current welcome bonus on the Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card is a better deal than the standard offer, but it’s not the highest it’s ever been. New cardholders can earn 100,000 bonus points after using your card to make $5,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months of card membership (offer ends 5/18/22). Because this is a small-business credit card, you’ll need to be a business owner to qualify. That doesn’t mean you have to have a huge corporation or full-time venture; side gigs like driving for Uber or part-time work like freelancing count, too.

The Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card comes with money-saving benefits that can also make your travels a little more civilized. For instance, the card’s anniversary free night certificate (valid at Marriott hotels that cost up to 35,000 points) can often be worth far more than its annual fee — in fact, I just used mine at a hotel that cost around $450 per night!

Like other Marriott free night certificates, you can now “top-up” this free night award with up to 15,000 Marriott points if you want to redeem it at a property that costs more than 35,000 points. For instance, if you want to redeem a 35,000-point certificate at a hotel that costs 45,000 points, you could use the certificate plus another 10,000 Marriott points from your account to book the stay.

Other Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card perks include:

  • Automatic Marriott Silver elite status
  • 15 elite night credits each calendar year
  • A second 35K free night award after you spend $60,000 or more in a calendar year
  • Secondary car rental insurance
  • Baggage insurance plan
  • Purchase protection
  • Extended warranty
  • Global Assist Hotline
  • No foreign transaction fees (See Rates)

You can find out more about the card in our full Marriott Bonvoy Business card review.

Other Marriott cards to consider

If you’re looking to earn Marriott points but neither of these cards appeals, there are other Marriott cards (issued by Chase) that could be a better choice:

  • Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card: Earn 3 free nights (each worth up to 50,000 points) after spending $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening, $95 annual fee (read our Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card review)
  • Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card: Earn 30,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening, $0 annual fee (read our Marriott Bonvoy Bold card review)
